We’ve produced a 12-day advent calendar with a difference this season so that you can help our Rucksack Stomp team make a difference to rough sleepers.

From 1 – 12 December we’ll be posting a virtual advent calendar door on our social media channels which will reveal an essential item we’d love you to donate to support people sleeping rough at this challenging time of year.

With the mercury falling significantly over the coming days and weeks, please spare a thought for those who haven’t got the luxury of a cosy home and warm bed this Christmas season.

Every suggested item featured each day will be a vital lifeline to those in need and will be distributed by a group of our formerly homeless companions, staff, trustees and helpers, who give up their time to support vulnerable people every week in the Rucksack Stomps.

The team carries large rucksacks filled with food and useful supplies to hand out in Bedford town centre on Tuesdays, Northampton on Wednesdays and Wellingborough on Thursday evenings.

Calling on local schools, businesses and community groups

We’d love to enlist the support from local schools, colleges, businesses, churches, families and individuals to ensure people affected by homelessness have warm clothing, shelter, supplies and support this winter.

If you would like to help our appeal with donations of items featured in the 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar, please drop them off from Wednesday – Saturday, 10am – 4.30pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm at the Emmaus Village Carlton reception in the Dom Gregory building, School Lane, Carlton MK43 7LQ. Ring 01234 720826 for more details.

Anyone wishing to support the work of the Emmaus Village Carlton Rucksack Stomp financially, please donate to our Rucksack Stomp Appeal, A selection of the suggested items can also be purchased through our Amazon Wishlist page.

A huge THANK YOU in advance for your warm Christmas gesture in supporting the vulnerable people we help in our local communities.
