Are you a chef or cook looking to offer your spare time to volunteer for a local homelessness charity?
Emmaus South Lambeth Community (Emmaus SLC) was established in 2007 to help alleviate poverty and homelessness in London. We are part of the Emmaus federation of charities across the UK. Our vision is a world in which everyone has a home and a sense of belonging. Our mission is to work together to overcome homelessness and social exclusion.
Emmaus SLC is one of 29 Emmaus communities and 5 groups, each of which is an independent charity. We offer accommodation for as long as it is needed, a monthly allowance, personalised support and meaningful work in a social enterprise to our residents (known as Companions) who have experienced homelessness. This provides the long term support needed to break the cycle of homelessness. We can currently support up to 45 Companions at any one time across our residential sites in West and South Norwood.
What will I be doing?
