On Friday 19th April, Emmaus SLC hosted four volunteers from Charles Russell Speechlys International Law Firm to help build and fill, the first of our four vegetable gardens in our Croydon Community homes. Despite a near-constant drizzle, and none of us having done gardening work like this before, we successfully managed to shift two tonnes of soil into our new bed to be planted soon!
We want to thank them for their hard work and the enormous amount of shovelling they had to do. We would also like to thank Builder Depot for supplying the materials. There are still more beds to go, but at least we know what we are doing now! We will post further updates on the status of the vegetable gardens as we continue to make progress.
