Many would say that having a BBQ is a summertime essential and at Emmaus SLC we could not agree more!
On Thursday evening of this week, our Chair, Jon Pallas (JP), led a BBQ cooking team of fellow trustees (Tess, Jess and Ravi) and some family “recruits”.
Providing the food for the BBQ themselves, they offered a delicious menu that included the following:-
Beef brisket
Chicken thighs marinated in wild garlic/olive oil
Mushrooms in BBQ sauce
Veg souvlaki
Vegan cheese
Brioche buns / salads / potato wedges
Fruit salad

We were confident of having good weather, and that certainly proved to be the case. Around 40 Companions, staff, trustees and volunteers
attended in the garden of our community property near Norwood Junction. It was a good opportunity for the community to relax and socialise together, after what has been a very busy summer.
We would like to thank JP and the BBQ cooking team, plus everyone who attended and made the
BBQ as enjoyable as it was. Here is to the next Emmaus SLC social event!
