On Thursday 17th August Emmaus SLC hosted its annual summer BBQ at our Croydon community, close to Norwood Junction.
We had almost 40 members of Emmaus SLC staff, Companions, trustees and friends attending as it was a brilliant opportunity for our Community to gather and relax on a sunny day after work and enjoy some tasty food and ice-cold drinks.
Items on the menu included:
- · Beef burgers
- · Veggie burgers
- · Pork sausages
- · Chicken drumsticks
- · Salad
And more!
We had a fantastic turnout and a very pleasant summer evening. We would like to say a huge thank you to the BBQ cooking team, Neil, Vanessa, Miller, and Steve who were shrouded in smoke all evening. Even more thanks go out to those who did all the cleaning and washing up afterwards!
Hopefully we can arrange for more social events within the Emmaus community soon!
