To help make the holiday season easier for one Preston family, we asked people to nominate a deserving family who would make best use of a chest freezer and £100 food voucher.

Michelle from Ingol was put forward alongside many others and selected by the people supported by Emmaus. Our companions also gave away food vouchers to everyone else who was nominated for the Christmas surprise.

Giving back to Preston

Emmaus Preston Director Stephen Buchanan said: “As a charity providing a home to people who have lost theirs, we’re sadly all too familiar with the results of the rising cost of living and pressures to pay the bills.

“To help one Preston family have a happier Christmas, charity beneficiaries have teamed up with the neighbours of our charity shop on Lowthian Street by Preston Markets – Iceland – to give away a 198-litre chest freezer and a £100 Iceland voucher for food.”

Community thanks

Emmaus Preston companions made the decision to give away food vouchers to all the people whose names were put forward.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you for nominating people. We hope you all had a happy holiday!
