Before Christmas time, we were delighted to give away a freezer that was full of food to a deserving Burnley family.
We wanted to give back to a community that has helped our charity in so many ways over the years, so we invited people to nominate someone they thought would benefit the most.
Our charity beneficiaries had the difficult job of reading through the submissions for the giveaway. They chose a family from Burnley to receive the special delivery in time for Christmas Day.
On Facebook, the recipient said she couldn’t believe she had been chosen. Writing online, she thanked Emmaus for selecting her family.
Emmaus Burnley residents were excited to choose the food to put inside the chest freezer, which was donated from the range of new kitchen appliances we have on sale at Emmaus Department Store. Our van crew made the special delivery before Christmas Day.
A fantastic chance for our the people with experience of homelessness, to be real life Santas!
