On Wednesday 13 December we held a Christmas meal to say thank you to our volunteers and companions for all their hard work throughout a busy 2017.
The meal was attended by 25 people and it was a nice mixture of companions, volunteers, members, trustees and staff. We had a buffet which was cooked by our chef companion and our kitchen volunteer (special thanks to both), a tombola with lots of great prizes and a quiz. The night was a great success and was nice to let our hair down and have some fun.
A week later on Wednesday 20 December, companions from Emmaus Burnley headed to the bright lights of Manchester to enjoy another festive treat. We joined up with more than 60 companions and staff from four Emmaus communities in the North West for a night at the Comedy Store in Manchester. This was another great event and a fantastic way to round off 2017.
