UK fashion influencers have teamed up with Emmaus Bolton to showcase the sustainable vintage and retro fashion that will be on sale at the homelessness charity’s first ever kilo sale.

Hundreds of women’s, men’s and children’s clothes have been handpicked from the charity’s stock to go on the rails at Victoria Hall, Knowsley Street in Bolton on Saturday July 16th.

Examples of the fabulous fashion will be modelled by leading influencers in the online fashion world, who are giving social media viewers sneak peeks on their own pages – and Emmaus Bolton’s – at what will be available from 10-3pm on the day.

Sustainability and great savings

Manchester blogger @hope.bailey regularly posts thrift store hauls on her Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts. She buys from charity shops for sustainability as well as great savings.

Hope, who was featured in the MailOnline, said: “I love supporting charity shops and local businesses and I think it’s so important to promote shopping second hand as it raises money for charities, is more sustainable and you can get some cool items that you can’t find from fast fashion brands.”

Visitors to Emmaus Bolton’s first ever Kilo Sale can expect great savings, as clothing will be sold by weight at the best value price for a sale of this kind in the UK, at just £5 for a kilogram; most Kilo Sales charge over £15 per kg.

Emmaus Bolton’s bargain prices caught the eye of alternative fashion blogger, @goaskellice who is modelling examples of Emmaus Bolton skirts, trousers and tops on her Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts. See her TikTok here and her YouTube video here.

“Guilt-free shopping for charity”

Charity shop worker Ellice from Leeds said: “I’m helping because I want to spread information on how you can shop guilt-free with charity shops. You’re saving yourself some money and shopping sustainably, but most importantly you’re helping such important charities – like Emmaus – towards their goal. I’d love for everyone to consider buying second-hand before making a purchase.”

All proceeds from the kilo sale will go towards providing support, focused work and training as well as accommodation at Emmaus Bolton for up to 22 people who have experienced homelessness.

Emmaus Bolton’s Director Tony Stephenson said: “We’re delighted to have some of the UK’s top fashion bloggers on board, putting together outfits from the fantastic fashion that will be available at Emmaus Bolton’s Kilo Sale.

“At our homelessness charity we do our utmost to recycle as much as we can to lower Bolton’s carbon footprint, while raising money to help people in need at the same time. That can be through our home from homelessness at Emmaus Bolton or through fighting food poverty at our food bank.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along to Victoria Hall on July 16th from 10-3pm. My top tip is to be early! You will be surprised at what is available.”
