Emmaus customers, supporters, companions, staff, trustees and volunteers are invited to show off their musical talents for a brand-new competition we’re running throughout October at our Chequers Road Superstore in Gloucester.
We have received a couple of pianos as donations recently and noticed that shoppers of all ages love to play a tune while browsing our store. It’s great fun and really seems to cheer people up too! Our latest donation is a beautifully crafted Hupfeld piano – a brand known for quality and exceptional tone.
Instead of selling the piano, we will be keeping it as a feature in our superstore for customers, staff, volunteers and companions to enjoy… and for some extra fun…
How to enter:
Feeling creative or have a flair for video editing? You can also enter the competition by creating your own video of you playing our Community Piano, instead of our team recording you. Simply drop in and play! Videos can be e-mailed to [email protected] and will be published on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please make sure your video is no more than 90 seconds and that you have signed the online consent form by scanning the QR code on the poster above our Community Piano.
Every participant has the option to remain anonymous in their video if they feel more comfortable. This could be something as simple as just recording your hands playing the piano, or you could even dress up in a disguise or as your favourite musician!
Location: Our Community Piano is located at our Emmaus Secondhand Superstore, Chequers Road, Gloucester, GL4 6PN. We’re open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
Categories: Piano playing is great, and we would like to see as many customers as possible taking part. We have two categories – one for under 18s and one for over 18s – and there are a range of prizes on offer.
To follow the competition, visit us on Facebook and Instagram.
Emmaus Gloucestershire is also welcoming prize donations from local businesses for the Piano Competition. Anyone who would like to donate a prize is asked to contact Joanna Hyndman on 01452 687 057 or [email protected]
