To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are asking our community members 30 questions about them and Emmaus Gloucestershire. For our second feature, we have Malcolm, our Business Manager.
To support formerly homeless people to get back into “normal” society.
The first time I went to an all community BBQ at our house. It was great to spend time with companions, staff and volunteers and everyone being equal.
Helping and supporting people who are less fortunate than me.
No such thing as a typical day!
The people because we all strive for the same goal – combatting homelessness and supplying items that some people wouldn’t otherwise have.
Nailsworth because it’s an absolute treasure trove.
Every time a companion moves on in a positive way.
Barak Obama and Bruce Springsteen.
My family and friends.
Raising two children who still speak to me!!
Home because I’m surrounded by people and things that mean everything to me.
Knowing what we do at Emmaus Gloucestershire makes a difference.
Watching my beloved Gloucester Rugby.
To never judge people.
Michael Heap who was Chair of Trustees and took me on to do this job.
Listen to music.
Work – opening a new store.
Personal – travelling.
A sense of belonging which I’ve never experienced in any other organisation.
Buying from us helps to support the work we do.
It’s a great charity that makes a difference on so many different levels.
It can happen to anyone.
It’s a great place to buy from, to volunteer at and to work for.
A huge thank you!
