Help us reach our target!

Here at Emmaus Gloucestershire, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout 2023. Our charity was started by a team of volunteers in Nailsworth in 1993. Throughout the 1990s, the team sold donated clothes and bric-a-brac, eventually raising enough to set up a community house to provide a home for as long as needed to people who have experienced homelessness.

Since 1993, Emmaus Gloucestershire has grown considerably. We now have four shops and an eBay store which fund our community house and provide meaningful work opportunities to the people we support, known within Emmaus as companions. We have 26 rooms at our community house and we provide more than just a bed, but a reason to get out of it in the morning. When a person joins our community as a companion, they are provided with an individual bedroom, all meals in a communal dining room, and normal living expenses. There is no time limit and this stability helps people to rebuild their lives following homelessness. As well as a home for as long as needed, the meaningful work and training opportunities we provide helps people to regain their self-esteem and confidence, develop new skills and gain work experience.

Can you help us reach 30k by the end of 2023?

We are delighted to have reached such an important milestone at Emmaus Gloucestershire and we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout the year with various events and activities. To kick off our anniversary year, we are launching a 30k for 30 years fundraiser. We are appealing to local people to help us reach our target by the end of 2023, either through individual donations or fundraising activities at schools, workplaces, churches or groups. All money raised through 30k for 30 years will go a long way towards helping to continue our work supporting people to move forward with their lives after experiencing homelessness.

To donate, simply choose the amount you would like to give on our donate form above and then fill in your details. If your school, workplace, group or church is interested in fundraising for this appeal, please get in touch by emailing [email protected] so we can learn more about your activities and help to promote them!
