We are delighted to announce that Street Souls Greenwich is launching on 9 February 2023, offering vital support to people who are struggling financially in Greenwich. Thanks to funding from the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the new Greenwich Street Souls service will run every Thursday evening at Woolwich Common Community Centre from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Greenwich Street Souls will offer support to anyone in the borough who is struggling financially, including families who can’t afford food, people who are experiencing social exclusion and loneliness, people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and more. Anyone is welcome to enjoy a free meal and a hot drink, take part in weekly activities, charge their devices and use the WiFi for free, and to warm up in a safe and supportive environment. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer advice and information about other available services in the community.

Street Souls Greenwich is reliant upon a dedicated team of amazing volunteers, and we are seeking more volunteers to join the team. If you have free time on Thursday evenings and would like to help support vulnerable people in your local area, please get in touch or visit the website to see the available roles: https://emmaus.org.uk/greenwich/support-us/volunteer-roles/

Street Souls Co-ordinator Gen Rogers said: “We are hugely grateful to the Royal Borough of Greenwich for the initial funding for our service. We know comes at a very difficult time for many with the cost of living crisis having an impact around the borough. Emmaus Greenwich has been supporting people in the borough for many years now, and we are delighted to be able to expand our services to offer this new regular support evening.”
