We are always ready to welcome new volunteers and you will be working alongside companions and staff to support the work of Emmaus Gloucestershire, giving you the opportunity to meet new people, develop new skills, gain experience, and contribute directly to the success of our charity.

Our volunteer base is diverse, and our volunteers come from all walks of life. All we ask is that our volunteers are able to make a regular and consistent commitment. How often, and for how long, you want to volunteer is up to you.

Please note that there is a minimum age requirement of 18 in order to volunteer with us. If you are under 18 and would like to support our charity, you can still get involved by fundraising or helping us to raise awareness of homelessness and the work we do. Some ideas include holding a bake sale or quiz night or taking part in a sponsored challenge. For more information or help promoting your activities, please contact [email protected]

Volunteer roles with us include:

  • Till and Shop Support
  • Book, Vinyl and Multimedia
  • Clothing, Linen and Footwear
  • Bric-a-Brac
  • Van Driver (Gloucester & Stroud Shops)
  • Drivers Mate (Gloucester & Stroud shops)
  • PAT testers (Gloucester & Stroud Shops) (training provided)
  • Online Sales (Gloucester Shop)

Volunteer your skills or resources

We know that lots of our supporters may not have the time to volunteer on a weekly basis for us but could offer a specific skill or expertise on a one-off or ad hoc basis. If there is something you feel you could offer to the charity or to our companions, please get in touch.

If you would like to become a volunteer in our community, please emailĀ [email protected], complete the online enquiry form below or pop into one of our shops to complete an application form.

Do you have time to spare and want to utilise your skills and experience to help a homelessness charity? If YES we would like to hear from you, as we are currently looking for new charity trustees to join our team at Emmaus Gloucestershire. To find out more, visit our Become a Trustee page.
