Our second-hand shop in Stroud has reopened after a makeover, and we’re celebrating a great deal of positive feedback from customers.

Our shop, which is located on London Road, sells a range of pre-loved furniture, household items, clothing, toys, books, and bric-a-brac to generate funds to support people out of homelessness.

During our two-week closure, we repainted, fitted a new carpet, moved the changing room, installed a stud wall to separate the shop floor from the back offices and undertook a deep clean.

The team also wanted to increase the amount of available display space for pre-loved items. To do this, fixtures to hang clothing has now been installed, as well as a slatwall display system on the new stud wall and changing room area.

All work during the makeover was completed in-house by our team, except for the new carpet. Commenting on the new look, Andrea Mason-Camp, Stroud Shop Manager, said:

“We are delighted with how our Stroud shop looks after its makeover and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in our team who helped. We have received a great deal of positive feedback from customers and very early indications are positive in terms of sales. I warmly invite existing and new customers alike to stop by our Stroud shop to have a browse and support our homelessness charity.”

With the makeover complete, we are looking for volunteers at our Stroud shop and have several roles on offer including shop and till support, van driving, and stock sorters. To find out more about the available roles, visit www.emmaus.org.uk/gloucestershire.
