On Sunday 3 July, some of our companions and staff members visited JDR Karting in Gloucester for our first community day out since 2019.
Our Emmaus community provides a home, work experience in our social enterprises, funded training, and support. As part of this, we offer people who have experienced homelessness the chance to be part of a community, make new friends, and create new support networks. All of our companions help out in our social enterprises, but when they are closed we try to arrange group activities to do, just like any household or family would do!
Everyone enjoyed the go karting and our first day out since before the pandemic. Podium positions on the final race:
