Our new café, Café Emmaus, is now open!

Companions built the Café themselves inside our charity superstore, using reclaimed materials. The café is already proving a popular addition to our site, where we sell a wide selection of furniture, clothes, bric-a-brac and homewares.

As well as delicious homemade cakes and snacks, customers can also enjoy a new coffee blend which is exclusive to Emmaus Dover. The blend will only be available onsite. We are very grateful to the White Label Coffee Company, who undertook barista training with our companions, and also for the last several months very kindly lent us the use of their coffee cart.

Darren, a companion who works at the café, has undergone barista training in order to learn how to make the perfect cappuccino, and is enjoying serving customers. He said:

“I’m a people person, and I really enjoy interacting with customers. It’s great having the new café inside the shop, so people can come in and relax with a cup of tea and a slice of cake while they’re shopping.”

Debbie, Community Manager at Emmaus Dover said:

“We hope that our new café will make Emmaus Dover even more of a shopping destination, as visitors can shop our fantastic selection of upcycled and pre-loved items, and enjoy a cup of our new Café Emmaus blend at the same time! I’m so proud of our companions who worked hard to create this great new space themselves.”

With beautiful views of the white cliffs and out to sea, the Emmaus Dover garden is a great spot to try a cup of the new exclusive coffee blend! Come along and try it for yourself.
