Emmaus Cornwall has benefitted from a day of extra volunteers from Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies (CHS) as part of a national charity partnership.
On Thursday 13 October, a team of employees from Bunzl CHS spent the day volunteering at Mount Edgecombe estate to help collect seeds for our new tree nursery. All seeds collected from the day have now been processed and will be stored in the fridge until they are ready for planting in the new year.
Our Community Tree Nursery at Trewoon opened in September 2022 and for the past few months, we have been running volunteering sessions to collect seeds. The aim of our tree nursery is to meet the need for locally grown trees, whilst creating a nature based hub for locals to enjoy and generating income to open the first Emmaus community in Cornwall which will help to support people out of homelessness. We would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers and to the team from Bunzl CHS.
