The next online event hosted by Emmaus Cornwall with award winning Cornish-based author Patrick Gale and Sunday Times bestseller Cathy Rentzenbrink will be live streamed at The Tolmen Centre on Thursday 9 September so people local to the theatre can enjoy and watch it with other people.

Patrick’s novels include Rough Music, Notes From an Exhibition, the Costa-nominated A Place Called Winter, and most recently Take Nothing With You. In 2017, Patrick’s Man in an Orange Shirt was screened as a two-part movie by BBC2 as part of the Gay Britannia season, winning a 2018 International Emmy Award for Best TV Movie or Miniseries.

During the event, Patrick will be discussing his novels with Cathy, answering questions from viewers and reading from his forthcoming book, Mother’s Boy, due out March 2022.

The event will be socially distanced with a maximum capacity of 90. There will not be a cafe for this event, but the bar will be open.

We will kick off at 6.15pm with a talk by one of our trustees about the unique model of Emmaus, followed by a live viewing of Patrick Gale in conversation with Cathy Rentzenbrink.

Tickets cost £5 and are available here. If you are not local to the area or just want to watch from the comfort of your own home, you can purchase a ticket to the Zoom event for £10 here.
