We are looking for a cook to work our kitchen preparing food for the people we support (known as companions). We are seeking someone with good experience of delivering high quality, excellently presented food: a passion for great food, produced with excellent attention to detail.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
• A minimum one year’s experience of working within a catering environment
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation/Catering qualification
• Knowledge of current food legislation in regards to food hygiene and health and safety in the workplace.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety
• Allergen awareness training
• Able to prepare, cook and present food to meet quality, cost and to health and safety standards
• Experience of working with and relating to a diverse range of people
• Willingness to work flexibly including out of hours
• Understanding of professional boundaries
The successful candidate will prepare and cook quality homemade food, baking and general catering in our companions kitchen with flexibility to work across the catering provision on the Emmaus Village Carlton site.
Actively contributing and supporting the Catering Manager and team to develop and grow the catering provision across the Emmaus Village Carlton site.

• Salary: £11.50 per hour
• Working Hours – 16 hours per week, Saturday & Sunday, 9.30am – 6pm with requirement to be flexible to cover holiday and sickness as required
• Annual Leave – 9 days, plus holidays (23 days pro rata)
