We are seeking an inspirational and visionary CEO who will seek out opportunities to grow our reach and consolidate our offer. The new CEO will have the ability to translate strategic vision into operational plans and be able to roll up their sleeves when needed.
The postholder will be a visible leader, who will empower the Companions, staff members and volunteers, while ensuring the development, sustainability, and smooth running of our profitable social enterprises.
With a sharp rise in homelessness being seen across the country and the cost-of- living crisis heavily impacting local communities, this is a hugely exciting time to join a dynamic organisation with a strong purpose and unique approach to supporting people experiencing homelessness.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experienced senior leader, with a track record of leading and managing cohesive and high-performing teams, ideally in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Track record of development and implementation of strategic plans to capitalise on opportunities and increase the reach and impact of an organisation.
- Knowledge of the homeless sector, with insight into the causes and impact of homelessness.
- Ability to engage with and build confidence across a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Experience of successful income generation from a range of sources and via a variety of income streams, including fundraising, social enterprises, or trading arms (e.g. retail and catering).
- Knowledge of charitable policies, practices, and legal duties, including financial and governance systems.
We are seeking a motivational, agile, decisive, and resilient leader, who can lead from the front. Being compassionate and empathetic, politically savvy, and calm under pressure, with the ability to innovate and take advantage of new opportunities will be essential.
