Before living at Emmaus, Lawrence was on the streets.

“I ended up sleeping rough on the streets on-and-off for two years. Being homeless in the cold and wet is very hard. A day on the streets for me was total isolation, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I’ve come on leaps and bounds in the time I’ve been here. I like the variety. It keeps me moving – it keeps me alive.”
