Emmaus Suffolk Food & Families Appeal
Help us to support vulnerable people with hot meals and wellbeing hubs this winter. Donate and make an impact on your local community.
It’s officially roast season at The Royal Oak! Our Sunday Roasts have returned for just £12.50. Back by popular demand, the roast dinners will now be served every Sunday at 12pm & 1pm at 175 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP3 8EB.
At The Royal Oak we offer delicious, affordable meals throughout the week as well as free wellbeing hubs to help battle loneliness and isolation. In the winter months, our community café acts as a warm space and welcomes the local community to use our lounge area to work and relax in.
Customers can tuck into a Beef, Turkey or Vegan roast with all the trimmings while supporting the work our charity does. Every time a guest dines at The Royal Oak, they are helping us to continue our work with vulnerable adults and those at risk of homelessness across the county. Emmaus Suffolk provides supported housing, employment & training schemes, work opportunities and wellbeing support across Ipswich and Felixstowe.
To coincide with the return of Sunday roasts, we are re-launching our winter appeal to ensure that everyone can enjoy warm and nutritious meals throughout the year. The Christmas Meal Appeal asks customers to add on a donation when they pay their bill and gift a meal forward to someone struggling financially. The customer can donate £5 to place a bauble on the Emmaus Suffolk giving tree and their donations will help the charity to keep meal prices as low as £3.50.
Last year the Christmas Meal Appeal raised an amazing £1744 funding over 500 meals for vulnerable people in Suffolk.
Claire Staddon, Chief Executive of Emmaus Suffolk shares “We’re really pleased to be offering our affordable Sunday Roast again this year – it’s a customer favourite and we love to see friends and family gather at our site. Winter is a very tough time for many people with bills rising and it’s a time where loneliness creeps in and affects the most vulnerable in our communities. Our Winter Meal Appeal means we can maintain low prices in our café and ensure we can keep our warm space heated throughout the colder months.”
