We are incredibly proud to say that we have been presented with The Suffolk Award by the High Sheriff of Suffolk and the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk.

The High Sheriff, Edward Creasy, visited our hub in Felixstowe to present the award to our team.  This award was given to us to recognise the work we have done for people across Suffolk throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including distributing more than 1400 Mental Health Packs to people across Suffolk who were isolating.

When the country went into lockdown in March 2020 our team wanted to continue to support people who attend our hubs. They came up with the idea of creating and delivering Mental Health Packs, or Boredom Packs, filled with items from our shops. The first packs were filled and distributed in April, with support from the Chapman Centre and Emmaus volunteers. They contained DVDs, books, CDs, puzzle sheets, a gift for Easter, thanks to a donation of 100 Easter eggs from Sainsbury’s, and some basic toiletries along with a handwritten card from the Emmaus team..
