We are incredibly grateful to Wickhambrook musician Simon Webb and his band The Spiderhawks for making an incredibly generous donation of £692 to our Christmas Appeal.

The Spiderhawks is a nine piece band whose members include Robert Hart and Simon West. Robert is a British rock vocalist and songwriter, and currently the lead singer of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, while Suffolk based Simon is a composer, musical director, conductor, and arranger. He conducted Cats and Tommy in the West End, and has worked with many great creative talents including  Bernard Edwards (Chic), Pete Townshend, Don Black, Imelda Staunton, Lenny Henry, B.A. Robertson, June Whitfield, Peter Straker, Richard O’Brien, & Elaine Paige.

At the end of last year the band released a charity single called Holy Joe which tells the story of homeless man Joe Monroe. The single was released to raise money for homeless charities and they have kindly donated a large proportion of  the money raised to our Christmas Appeal. This appeal is being run in partnership with Help Our Homeless, Ipswich, and will go towards helping those experiencing homelessness in Ipswich, and helping to prevent homelessness across Suffolk.
