Love what we do and want to support us in a completely unique way? We have just the thing for you!

To mark the opening of our new community hub, shop and cafe, we have launched a unique fundraising campaign offering people, businesses, and organisations the opportunity to sponsor a chair in our new community café, at the Royal Oak in Ipswich.

We’ve had 40 wooden chairs donated to us, and each chair is being lovingly upcycled by our very talented volunteers. We offer upcycling opportunities to our volunteers in our workshop in Sailmakers Shopping Centre, Ipswich, so along with raising funds, for our charity, this project will also give the Emmaus Suffolk talented volunteers an exciting new creative challenge to get their paintbrushes into.

All money raised through the sponsorship of these chairs will go straight back into supporting people experiencing homelessness or social isolation.

For a (minimum) donation of £100 you can sponsor a chair of your choice, themed around a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the Emmaus movement: locally, nationally or internationally. We will also put your name on the chair, alongside the name of the person they were created in honour of.

For a (minimum) donation of £500 businesses can support a uniquely upcycled chair solely dedicated to their organisation. The Emmaus Suffolk upcycling team will create a bespoke chair inspired by your company and the work you do. An engraved plate will be installed on the chair featuring your company’s name, and the option to include a short dedication to someone you wish to honour.

By sponsoring a chair, you’ll be supporting the charitable work of Emaus Suffolk, and will be part of creating a legacy for Ipswich and injecting life into a much-missed community venue, the Royal Oak. So dig deep, get your hands down the back of the sofa and gather your pennies.

Details of the chairs available are below, including information on the individuals each chair is dedicated to.
