On April 27th, we will be showcasing our green credentials at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s Carbon Neutral Conference.

This is being held at Trinity Park, Ipswich, and is an opportunity to promote innovation and initiate immediate action in Suffolk on its journey to zero carbon emissions.

Guests attending Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s Carbon Neutral Conference will enjoy a breakfast buffet, and we are delighted to say that any food leftover from the event will be donated to Emmaus Suffolk for us to distribute through our community fridge and to visitors of our hub.

Not only does this mean perfectly edible food will not simply be thrown away, it will also help the people of Ipswich who, like the rest of the country, are experiencing a large rise in the cost of living.

Claire Staddon, CEO of Emmaus Suffolk says:

“As the cost of living continues to rise, Emmaus Suffolk is seeing an increase in families and individuals struggling with food poverty. Ensuring our volunteers, neighbours and visitors to our hubs have access to free or low-cost high-quality food is one of our priorities. The food donated will go directly to those living in our community who need the extra support at the moment, and we are incredibly grateful to Suffolk Chamber of Commerce for their support.”

We’ll also be using Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s Carbon Neutral Conference to showcase the many ways in which we are working hard to reduce our footprint on the environment. We’re proud to give unwanted clothing, homeware and furniture a new lease of life by selling them in our shops. Not only does this reduce the number of items going to landfill here in Suffolk, it also reduces the amount of C02 used through producing brand new items.

We also sell a range of eco products.

  • Hand-made reusable wax wraps, reusable face wipes, sandwich bags and more. These have all been created by an amazing local team, using donated fabrics such as pre-loved bedding.
  • Recycled furniture chalk paint made by  CIC Community Repaint in Cambridgeshire.
  • Re-usable thermos cups made from 70% recycled plastic.
  • Refillable SESI domestic and professional-grade cleaning and hygiene products.

At the conference we want to talk to businesses about the amazing professional-grade packaging-free, refillable cleaning and hygiene products that we stock. Made here in the UK, SESIs consumer refillable products are already incredibly popular in our shops as they are eco friendly, packaging-free and vegan, and we are now proud to be resellers of SESI’s professional grade cleaning products, all of which are eco-friendly.
