Lead Housing Support Manager

Emmaus Suffolk are seeking an experienced Lead Housing Support Manager with a strategic knowledge of evolving a supported housing offer to provide direction, pastoral care and support within our organisation.

Emmaus Suffolk recycles and upcycles donated items, providing an outlet for good quality, fair priced second hand household goods. At the same time offering volunteers whom may be homeless and or workless the opportunity to gain new skills and restore self esteem. You will be part of the passionate and dedicated team working towards fulfilling the charities objective of self-sufficiency, solidarity, and meaningful work experience for vulnerable people.

You will be predominately based at The Royal Oak which is the largest supported housing offer and runs two of our social enterprises; offering a range of roles for volunteers to work with and for the business, in retail and our community café.

This is a full time permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week on a working 5 days on a 6 day rota, which will include occasional Sundays and Bank Holidays.  Benefits include 28 days annual leave, flexible working and significant opportunities for continued learning and development.

Your key responsibilities (please also refer to JD):

  • Undertaking comprehensive needs and risk assessments so that all our service users; full companions, UC companions, non residential companions and volunteers support and development needs are fully identified.
  • Providing pastoral care to all members of our community regardless of their role; through flexible support, in a variety of settings to ensure the enrichment and development of all.
  • Building on and enriching the unique model that Emmaus Suffolk has developed with the full companions, UC companions, non residential companions and
  • Support the Community Manager with the development of the NRPF model of supported housing.
  • Developing, maintaining and coordinating effective working relationships with partners across Suffolk.
  • Maintaining a stable supported housing community and maximising the housing offer.
  • Working with the rest of the Support Team to innovate and deliver excellence in its outreach service.

You will have:

  • Proven experience of working with and the development of vulnerable people and/or those with multiple and complex needs.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of homelessness, housing and supported housing.
  • Detailed knowledge of welfare benefits and experience of working within a safeguarding framework.
  • Proficiency using a case management system and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, excellent relationship building skills and a flair for adapting your influencing style and approach.
