We’re reopening!

Our shops

We’re set to reopen our doors after a 16-week closure due to the Covid-19 shutdown and preparing for a phased reopening, with our Bridgend Superstore and high street shop on Caroline Street the first to welcome customers back on Monday 12 April.

With a smaller than usual staff team, we hope to open our Maesteg and Porthcawl shops later this month.

Shop online

Our eBay store is operating as usual so you can still shop with Emmaus South Wales and help to support people who have experienced homelessness. Visit our eBay store here.

Free furniture collection

We are accepting collection requests. Please bear in mind that we currently have a backlog of collections from lockdown to complete first, so scheduling a collection date may take longer than usual. Book a collection here.

Donations drop offs

Due to the 16-week closure, we have a full warehouse of unsold stock and will be limiting donations in store. We’re asking that people only donate good quality items on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at our Bridgend Superstore. Items that are damaged or in a condition that cannot be sold costs our charity money to dispose of and will be turned away.

We understand that customers can sometimes feel frustrated if we need to turn items away and we kindly ask donors who may be turned away to remember that our staff members and companions are doing the best they can and working extremely hard to store donations and stock our shops.

To avoid making a disappointing donation drop off, please read the following:

⌚ Donation days are at our Tremains Superstore are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only from 10am until we have reached capacity for the day.

❌ We are not accepting donations at our other shops.

📞 Please call our shop before making the journey to drop off your donations. If we do not have the required space, then we can then advise you on the best day to come: 01656 750829.

❌ Please do not leave donations outside of our shops when we are closed. This is fly-tipping and items can be stolen or damaged by the weather.

✅ We only accept donations of clean, saleable items that are still in good condition.

❌ Items that are damaged, broken or cannot be sold costs our charity money to tip – money that could otherwise be going towards the people we support.

✅ We kindly ask that donors separate textiles, bric-a-brac and books/media in separate bags. If this isn’t done then we may refuse the donations in store.

🙏 Please remember that the majority of people working in our shops are the people we support, who are all trying to rebuild their lives following homelessness. If a member of our team turns donations away, it is because they have to and not because they are trying to cause problems.

👍 thank you to everyone who has donated items over the last few months!
