Our stories

We’re open!

Our Bridgend Superstore and Caroline Street shops are now open from Monday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm.

Do you have items to donate? Due to the 16-week closure, we have a full warehouse of unsold stock and will be limiting donations in store. We’re asking that people only donate good quality items on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at our Bridgend Superstore. Items that are damaged or in a condition that cannot be sold costs our charity money to dispose of and will be turned away. Emmaus South Wales is more than just a bed for the night.
The Emmaus model

Emmaus South Wales is more than just a bed for the night.

Emmaus South Wales is not like other homelessness charities. We don’t just provide a hot meal or a bed for the night.

Instead we offer a home for as long as it is needed, work experience in one of our social enterprises, funded training opportunities and the chance for the formerly homeless people we support to regroup and get back on their feet.

Volunteer for Emmaus

We couldn’t do what we do without our fantastic volunteers and offer a number of rewarding voluntary positions within the Emmaus South Wales community and charity shops.

You will be working alongside companions and staff to support the work of Emmaus South Wales, giving you the opportunity to meet new people and contribute directly to the success of our charity.

I’ve been at the Emmaus South Wales community since June this year and I really enjoy being here. I carry out a range of different jobs including cooking and working in the shops. I have recently been offered the responsibility of running one of our shops for three days a week. I can’t wait!

If Emmaus hadn’t given me the chance to prove myself, I’m pretty sure I would have ended up dead. Instead, I am developing myself, helping others and giving back to the Emmaus community, which is a really great feeling.
