Emmaus South Manchester has received a £1,200 gift as part of a new charity partnership with ADB SAFEGATE Airport Terminal Systems.
Staff at the Wythenshawe office of ADB SAFEGATE chose to support Emmaus to help people who experience homelessness and those suffering in poverty. As well as a donation of funds, ADB SAFEGATE will support our charity with items donated by employees and staff volunteering days.
Frances Hirst, Chair at Emmaus South Manchester, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support from ADB SAFEGATE and their local employees. This charity partnership will directly help the continued development of our social enterprise and move us towards our goal of opening a new Emmaus community.”
The Emmaus South Manchester Emporium charity store is raising the funds needed to open an Emmaus community to support people who have experienced homelessness. Emmaus communities provide a home, companionship, tailored support, training and work experience to help people move-on from homelessness.
ADB SAFEGATE provides integrated solutions that raise efficiency, improve safety, boost environmental sustainability and reduce operational costs for airports, airlines and air navigation service providers. Including their office in Wythenshawe, ADB SAFEGATE has over 1,400 employees in over 175 countries, dedicated to making air travel safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
As a socially responsible corporation, ADB SAFEGATE engages closely with its employees, customers, suppliers and the communities it operates in, to work on initiatives that have a positive social and environmental impact. The charity partnership with Emmaus is part of ADB SAFEGATE’s much wider commitment to play a positive role in the communities that it operates in.
Robert Bater, Managing Director of ADB SAFEGATE (Terminal), said; “I am incredibly proud of the support our charity committee has given to several charities in our local area over many years. When the opportunity came to work with Emmaus, it was clear to us how important their work is, especially with the cost-of-living challenges facing so many.
“Through the ABD SAFEGATE (Terminal) charity committee we aim to work with Emmaus to help raise funds and provide support through donations and volunteering opportunities. We look forward to working with Emmaus, and being a small part of the wonderful work, they do in our community.”
