I have just come back form an amazing 10 days in Moldova.
While we were out there we were working with 5 families in the village of Ciuceleni about 50 km from Chisinau. There was a variety of work that had to be done including plastering removing window frames digging cesspits and painting and decorating. The families were amazing and they were so grateful that we were assisting them.
It was incredibly hot every day but we just got on with the work. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe but you wouldn’t know it by the welcome we received from the families they were incredibly generous and appreciated us being there. Emmaus Lambeth worked with a team of Trainee teachers from TeachFirst and others who had been there before. We bonded quickly and even though it was hard work everyone was smiling throughout. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to represent Emmaus Lambeth out there and I look forward to going back in the future.
