Can you give a few hours each month to volunteer and take an accurate record of the meetings? At Emmaus Salford we are looking for positive individuals to help the work undertaken by our Board of Trustees. We need your time, talent and skills.

Do you have experience of recording meeting minutes?  Although not essential, the Minutes Secretary would preferably have:

  • Good organisational skills
  • Good typing skills
  • A working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Experience as a Minutes secretary or as a P.A.
  • Experience of formal, structured meetings
  • Experience of the taking and transcribing of minutes

The Board meetings monthly, currently second Monday of each month at 4.30pm. Meetings usually last a couple of hours, after which the Minutes Secretary will draft the minutes of the meeting ready for approval and circulation.   

Time commitment:

We are looking for a volunteer who can commit to at least 2 hours a month to attend our meetings and then spend time drafting the minutes ready for circulation.

Training, support and benefits:

  • As an Emmaus volunteer you will be given a full induction when you start. The induction and ‘buddy system’ we operate provides a full explanation and template for the minutes.
  • A Trustee will support you throughout your time as a volunteer.
  • We will offer you an opportunity to develop your skills and experience.
