After the latest shutdown, our Emmaus Salford charity stores will start a phased reopening from Monday 12 April. Please read this Covid-19 update to find out about visiting our stores, donating items and arranging a collection of furniture.

Our top priority is the wellbeing of our companions, staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and the local community. To ensure the safety of our team and all visitors, we completed a risk assessment for reopening and put in place measures to minimise the risk of virus transmission.

The Emmaus Salford Community Homestore and Seaford Road Shop have now reopened. Their opening hours will be Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Our Emmaus Salford Emporium in Swinton will remain closed for the time being.

Visiting our stores

If you are showing any Coronavirus symptoms or feel unwell in any way, please do not visit our stores. To ensure that physical distancing rules are maintained, we will be monitoring the number of people within our store. We are limiting the amount of people in store at any one time so you may be required to queue prior to entry. If you are visiting as a family, please stick together and ensure that your child or children stay close at all times.

Everyone will be required to sanitise their hands on entry at our sanitiser stations. Remember to bring a face mask and wear it within our stores unless you have a medical reason not to do so. Please handle items as infrequently as possibly, especially those you do not intend to buy. Stick to the directional arrows around the store and ensure that you maintain at least a 2 metre distance from others at all times. When purchasing items, please pay by card and use contactless payments where possible. A local delivery service will be available for larger purchases but we will continue to apply some additional safety controls.

Donating items

Unfortunately, due to limited storage space at our stores, we are unable to accept any drop-off donations for the time being. Please do not leave any shop donations outside of our stores at any time.

We have restarted free collections of larger good quality furniture such as sofas, chairs, tables, beds and sets of drawers. You can request a collection using our online form and someone will contact you to confirm a specific day and time. Please note we have some additional safety controls in place when collecting furniture so may not be able to enter your property.

We will continue to follow the latest advice and guidance from government and our local authorities. Keep checking our website and social media pages for the latest information and any changes to our operations. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns via [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this uncertain time and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Covid-19 Emergency Appeal

The majority of the funds we need to survive are generated through our social enterprise. The temporary closures of our Emmaus Salford charity stores due to the Covid-19 situation poses a significant risk to our charity. We know it’s tough for everyone at the moment but any gift you can spare will help us recover from this difficult period.
