After the success of my first fundraising event back in July, I decided to hold another Emmaus Salford fundraiser last week. I just thought it would be a chance to do something nice before the weather changed.

For this event I decided to do a cheese, wine and pâté evening. I got the idea when I went to Bolton Food & Drink Festival a few weeks ago. There were stalls selling so many strange flavours of cheese and I just thought it would be different.

It was a lovely sunny day and quite warm, which was great as it meant people could sit outside if they wanted. Everyone paid £5 to come and join in and there were lots to eat and drink.

We had a raffle with loads of good prizes and a ‘guess the cheese flavour competition’. I had some weird flavoured cheeses – chip shop curry flavour, chocolate and cherry, orange and champagne and others. The person who guessed most right got a cheese and wine hamper.

Altogether it was a good fun evening and just over £350 was raised in support of Emmaus Salford. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave their support.
