Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies has donated a van-load of household items to homelessness charity Emmaus Salford as part of their national charity partnership.

On World Homeless Day, 10 October 2019, two employees from Bunzl’s Warrington depot delivered items including stock gifted from Bunzl and household goods donated by their staff in Warrington. The items, including household cleaning and personal care products, will be used by community members at Emmaus Salford and members of Lucie’s Pantry social supermarket.

Emmaus Salford supports 22 formerly homeless people by offering a home, meaningful work in a social enterprise and an opportunity to get back on their feet again. The charity operates shops at Fitzwarren Street and Seaford Road in Salford, as well as the Emmaus Emporium in Swinton.

Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies is the UK’s leading supplier of janitorial, cleaning, and hygiene products. From individual fundraising to charitable work across its 19 branches, Bunzl actively support local communities and charities.

Bunzl’s current national Charity of the Year is Emmaus and the donation to Emmaus Salford is just one of many similar donations that have taken place across the country.

Rachel Richardson, Community Director at Emmaus Salford, said: “We are extremely grateful to Bunzl and the staff at their Warrington branch for the latest donation of goods to Emmaus Salford. These essential items will come in very useful within our community and at Lucie’s Pantry, reducing the cost of our ongoing shopping bills.”
