With a little help from our homelessness charity’s collections and deliveries vans, we hosted banksman (traffic marshalling and signalling) training this week.

People supported by Emmaus Salford were invited to join local people on the course at the home of our accommodation, charity shop and training centre on Fitzwarren Street.

Well done to everyone who took part: Oussama, Tim, Karin, Collet, Sedrik, Kirsty, Przamyszlan, Christoper, Kathryn and Marc. All course participants achieved theory certificates.

The course was funded by employability programme, Elevate Salford, and delivered in partnership with Groundwork and Emmaus Salford.

Some key supporters in the delivery were Oak Construction Projects, who covered a day in the life on a construction site, We are Footprint who delivered mock interviews and Working Wardrobe – everyone on the course was measured up and will be provided with work clothes for a building site.

The ‘Skills & Success: Two-Day Banksman Development Program’ helped boost confidence, communication and personal development to support local people into work.

Feedback included:

“Thanks to you for giving me a place to participate. It was a great experience”

“Thanks for it all, very helpful indeed.”

Well done everyone!
