Emmaus Oxford supporter Terry explains why he donates to our charity…

I believe in the philosophy of encouraging homeless people to rebuild their lives through work as a community and serving others. Emmaus runs a community for homeless people who look after each other and make it their home. Emmaus companions work in the shop, which sells donated second-hand furniture and other household goods. Emmaus receives companions’ housing benefit entitlement and profits from the shop but it still needs donations to provide all of its support services. The charity’s goal is for companions to live independent lives in their own homes. We all hope that one day Emmaus Oxford will be self-sufficient. We are getting there I believe but we still need help, so I would encourage anyone to donate what they can.”
