Emmaus Oxford is now officially a BCS Chartered Institute for IT-approved digital training centre, which means we can offer companions the Essential Digital Skills Qualification at our community.
The digital training programme, be.IT smart, is now underway providing a fantastic opportunity for companions to develop the digital skills needed in today’s workplace and everyday life. The programme runs for 20 weeks, guided by our experienced digital coach, Trevor.
We are running two groups of four companions, twice a week. The course helps participants build confidence and competence in using essential digital tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases as well as completing forms and transactions online. These are vital skills that are increasingly required by employers—80% of job vacancies now ask for digital proficiency.
As a BCS UK training centre, we are committed to high-quality digital education. Companions can now earn a recognised qualification that boosts workplace competence.
This course is open to all companions. There are always new skills to learn. It is accessible, supportive, and engaging, making it easier to develop essential digital knowledge.
We are excited to continue this journey and see our companions gain the skills they need to thrive in today’s digital world.
