We have received £7,196 from eBay’s package of financial support, which has been created to support the charities most affected by declines in online revenue as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
eBay has provided unrestricted grants to 250 charities to help make up for the shortfall in sales as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. When our physical store closed in March, we immediately lost more than 50% of our income as a charity. This grant was warmly welcomed and has been used to run our accommodation and support costs for people who have been homeless.
In addition to financial support, eBay has also announced Charity Connect, which is a training programme to support at least 500 UK charities to help them raise more money through more effective online sales. Emmaus Oxford is pleased to have been chosen as one of the 500 charities to benefit.
Tom, Deputy Store Manager at Emmaus Oxford, has started his training with eBay Charity Connect, and said:
“Emmaus Oxford is delighted to part of eBay’s Charity Connect training. This has come at just the right time for us as we want to increase our online sales. eBay for charity was already an important partner to us before COVID-19. We’re excited to learn more about how to increase our sales and improve our service in the face of all the change this year. Right now, I’m doing the training and next we will offer it to our companions so they can learn important new and transferable skills.”
