“I help to run the charity store van service, collecting and delivering furniture for customers. I’m also being given the chance to gain some qualifications. I recently completed an NVQ Level 2 in Storage and Warehousing; I’ve not really done much of that sort of thing in the past, so it was a great achievement for me and now I’d like to do more training. I want to build up my CV so I’ve got something to take away with me.

Emmaus Oxford are thrilled to be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge this year to help more people like Darren (above) to get training and find employment.

Homeless people can face many barriers to work. They need skills, qualifications and work experience to compete. Emmaus Oxford give people who’ve been homeless access to training, support and meaningful work. In 2020, we want to do even more. That’s why we want to raise £7700 for our project, New Year, New Start. Just to give an idea of what your donation could do for someone who’s been homeless…

– £25 could pay for one counselling session
– £75.50 could pay for getting a passport to take to job interviews
– £120 could pay for 4 hours of driving lessons.

Thanks to the Big Give, your donations between 3 – 10 December 2019 will be doubled. One donation, twice the impact.

Visit our campaign page from 12pm on Tuesday 3 December to take part.
