Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event planned on Monday 11 July has had to be postponed. Please watch this space for further details.

We’ve invited Terry Waite CBE to cut the ribbon at the official launch of Emmaus North Staffs’ new Potteries store.

On Monday 11 July, everyone’s invited to join Emmaus North Staffs staff and volunteers for a special event at our recently-opened Potteries Centre charity shop.

We’re excited to be welcoming Mr Waite – who is the president of Emmaus UK. Mr Waite will cut a ribbon to officially launch the shop, which situated on the lower-ground floor of the centre, at 1.45pm

Emmaus North Staffs Executive Lead, John Webbe, said: “We are delighted Mr Waite is able to join us for our official launch event at our new shop and warehouse. Terry is a great ambassador for Emmaus UK and having him with us in the Potteries is great.”

Our new charity shop opened on 23 May. A week later our large Furniture and Home Warehouse, located at Josiah Wedgwood Street, Hanley also opened its doors to the public.

Funds raised at the two stores will help Emmaus North Staffs continue to tackle furniture poverty in the local area. Each year, our charity partners with local councils and housing associations to offer free items to over 800 households without access to essential furniture and appliances. Emmaus North Staffs is also raising funds towards its long-term goal of setting up a community for people who have experienced homelessness. This accommodation will offer a home, work experience, daily support and funded training to rebuild lives, and will be the first of its kind in the county.

The official launch event with Terry Waite CBE will start around 1:45pm on Monday 11 July, at the Potteries Centre Shop, located opposite New Look. Members of the pubic are welcome to join us on the day.

We look forward to seeing you there.
