Huge thanks to local businessman Mark Holland, who has helped provide more than 30 brand new bed kits to families in need through Emmaus North Staffs’ Beds for Kids campaign.
Mark, Managing Director of Holland Construction, took part in the Saucony London 10K and raised £6,500. Despite never having run a 10K before, he was inspired to support the campaign after meeting John Webbe, our Executive Lead, at a community event earlier this year.
Mark said: “I’ve been blown away by people’s kindness and the charity has really been taken to people’s hearts. The need for beds on our doorsteps is unbelievable, and I want to keep the story going and continue supporting Emmaus North Staffs.”
Beds for Kids provides brand new bed kits – including a bed, mattress and bedding – to families across Stoke-on-Trent. Since the campaign launched in 2022, more than 500 bed kits have been delivered, but thousands of local children still do not have a bed of their own.
The number of children without their own bed is staggering. Support from people like Mark and those who donated to his run is a huge help to local families.
Mark’s JustGiving page is still open, with donations continuing to come in. He is close to reaching a target of £7,000, which will help even more families. For more details about Mark’s fundraiser, visit Mark’s JustGiving page.
