We are thrilled to share that Newcastle-under-Lyme Rotary Club has raised £1,000 to support our Beds for Kids campaign.
The fundraising golf day, held this summer at Newcastle-under-Lyme Golf Club, saw twelve teams take part. Half of the funds raised have kindly been donated to our Beds for Kids campaign, which provides brand new beds for children in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas, who don’t have a bed of their own.
Since we launched the campaign in 2022, we have delivered more than 400 bed kits (including a bed, mattress and bedding) to families across North Staffordshire.
John Webbe, our Executive Lead, added: “We are extremely grateful to the Rotary Club for their support. There are still around 8,000 children across Stoke-on-Trent without a bed, including roughly 2,000 in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Thanks to events like this, we can continue providing new bed kits and reach even more families over the coming months.”
Bob Bell, president of Newcastle-under-Lyme Rotary Club, said: “Emmaus North Staffs are doing so many great things locally and when I heard John speak about the work they do with Beds for Kids in helping local families, it really touched a heart string. We are proud to support their work through our fundraiser.”
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the event for helping more children in our community get a good night’s sleep.
