Are you looking for a new opportunity in which your skills and expertise can help others?

Emmaus North Staffs is in a very exciting time as our charity is looking for trustees to join us as we expand our operations.

Our charity, which is currently based at Emmaus Furniture Mine, in Hanley has provided support to thousands of local people over the last 30 years. Each year hundreds of families receive support to help to provide the essential furniture needed to help to turn their house into a home.

Emmaus North Staffs is continuing to grow and trustees will not only help with the general operation of the charity but also play a part in the development of the first Emmaus community in Stoke-on-Trent –  providing accommodation for formerly homeless people, as well work opportunities at our social enterprise store Emmaus Furniture Mine.

Who are Emmaus North Staffs trustees?

Emmaus North Staffs has a dynamic group of trustees supporting the charity and we are seeking several more people to join the Board. We are looking for trustees with a good understanding of the local area we serve and a driven passion to want to make a difference to local lives.  The development of a residential element to introduce our first companions is a significant step forward in the charity’s development.

What is expected of Emmaus North Staffs trustees?

To attend regular meetings, advise on strategy and get to know staff, volunteers and companions. Understand how the charity’s social enterprise operates, and to advise on the strategic development of the charity. This involves each trustee bringing their professional experience, skills, and knowledge to the charity’s Board meetings, as well as seeking opportunities to collaborate with local partners to achieve the goals of the charity
