Back by popular demand and with new products for Christmas 2021, Heart Of The Tyne is a unique handmade product range that has been designed and created by homelessness charity Emmaus North East.
Each individual piece has been hand made in South Shields by an Emmaus North East Companion, who has previously experienced homelessness. All items in the range are made using reclaimed wood, so you can hang a sustainable piece of the North East in your home.
100% of money raised from sales of these products will go back into Emmaus North East, helping to fight against homelessness in our region.
The 2021 collection will be available to pre-order soon on Etsy.
For kids and adults alike! Enjoy some festive fun with our new Decoration Craft Box and make Christmas tree decorations that you’ll use for years to come. The box includes 3 wooden stocking decorations, 3 bell decorations, 3 cracker decorations, ribbon for hanging on trees, a 12 colour paint pot and 2 paint brushes. Decorations come with a small hole in the top for easy hanging.
This item has been handmade by formerly homeless companions in our South Shields workshop. All proceeds to go to homelessness charity Emmaus North East.
Each item has been handmade in our South Shields workshop and is skillfully crafted by our Emmaus North East companions. Marek, Rafal, Alan and Karac have all experienced homelessness and now call the Emmaus North East community their home. They have spent time in the workshop developing woodwork skills that have enabled this charitable project.
Emmaus North East has a community in South Shields which is home to 16 individuals who have experienced homelessness in their lives. Once they become an Emmaus companion, they are offered safe and secure accommodation alongside meaningful work and valuable training. Joining Emmaus is a hand up rather than a hand out, and an opportunity for individuals to make a fresh start in life.
Our Heart Of The Tyne products are posted out in beautiful packaging and would make a stunning gift for any loved one. The package also features a product card which includes the name of the companion who handmade each individual star.
All of the packaging is 100% recyclable.
