Emmaus North East is proud to announce its accreditation as a Real Living Wage Employer, which builds on our commitment to fair compensation and the well-being of our staff.

What is the Real Living Wage?

The Real Living Wage is different from the government’s minimum wage. It is worked out based on the cost of food, travel, housing, and other needs. By paying this wage, we make sure our team can afford a good life, not just get by.

Why it’s important

At Emmaus North East, we care about everyone feeling valued and supported. This commitment reflects our charity’s dedication to its staff and sets a standard within the North East region, where a significant proportion of jobs pay less than the Real Living Wage.

Helping the wider community

Many jobs in the North East pay less than the Real Living Wage. By paying fairly, we hope to set a good example and encourage other employers to do the same. We are proud to join over 15,000 UK businesses that have made this promise!
