Emmaus North East is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Bronze Award under the Armed Forces Covenant, recognising our ongoing commitment to supporting veterans.

This award highlights the work we have done to assist former Armed Forces members who have experienced homelessness, and solidifies our pledge to continue offering them support in the future.

One case that illustrates our dedication is that of Ryan, a veteran who was our first referral from SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. After struggling with homelessness, Ryan and his puppy Locky, found a home and a fresh start at Emmaus North East. Ryan found a job and a new place not long after moving into the community and we were all so pleased for him.

Receiving the Bronze Award reinforces our mission to support those who have served in the Armed Forces, ensuring that veterans like Ryan have the opportunity to overcome homelessness and thrive within our community. Emmaus North East remains committed to helping more veterans in the future through housing, companionship, and tailored support.

We look forward to continuing this vital work and deepening our partnership with the Armed Forces community.
