We’re thrilled to share that we have been shortlisted as finalists for the BBC Norfolk Make a Difference Award!

Back in May, we were nominated for the Community Group award by one of our women companions currently receiving support in the community. She shared with BBC Norfolk:

“I was at my lowest, going through my divorce and didn’t know what to do or where to go. Several people I know sent me the advert to apply for the pilot for for a ‘Women’s Only Community’. I emailed them and got a call from Cecile within a day and a few days later a call from Jo. They listened to my story and accepted me for the first pilot. I cried”

Our women’s project is currently in its pilot year and it is the first time we have trialled creating a therapeutic, separate community for women. We’re so proud of this project, and of all the people who are part of it – from those who help design the support programme, artists who share their skills in creative sessions, our support team, and of course the women companions themselves, who are making incredible progress every single day.

To be recognised for our work by a companion in the first year of this project – and then to go on to be shortlisted as finalists – is just incredible. Keep your fingers crossed for us for the ceremony in September!
