CLOSING DATE: 30 November 2024 LOCATION: Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney SALARY: £15 p/h TYPE: Part-Time

Thank you for showing an interest in working for Emmaus Norfolk and Waveney. We are looking for two facilitators who will work together delivering supportive programmes for women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, homelessness, coercive control, wellbeing and self-esteem issues.

The posts are year long contracts, 12 hours per week on Thursday and Fridays, 6.5 hours per day (1/2-hour unpaid lunch break with lunch provided). This contract is likely to lead to permanent postings beyond the year long pilot.

The facilitators will be responsible for delivering two 8-week workshops looking at sexual violence and domestic abuse along with range of other skills and wellbeing focussed interventions over the course of one year. Course content and delivery training will take place in advance and ongoing advice and assessment will be on hand with the team and the consultants we are using to develop the therapeutic interventions.

Successful applicants will be involved in shaping a new innovative Women’s Only initiative, facilitating therapeutic courses and wellbeing interventions for nine women within the Emmaus Norfolk and Waveney community. Alongside this, working with the wider team and independent learning partner to monitor and evaluate a theory of change process.

You will be part of a team supporting and developing move-on pathways, working with the nine women over the course of a year who will require support both emotionally and practically so they can undertake this therapeutic pilot, develop life skills and realise their full potential.

Successful applicants will be part of an awesome development team (within a wider staff team) led by the Community Development Manager and will have key responsibilities within that team.

Alongside the work with facilitators, the nine women will take part in working within a number of new specific microenterprises as well as working some days as part of the main Emmaus community to ensure cohesion and progression.

So, if you have good facilitating skills, are a great communicator, have the ability to handle complex situations, experience of facilitating and supporting people with a variety of needs and have a positive “can do” attitude we would love to hear from you. You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team who are passionate about what they do.

We would welcome applications from candidates with experience of trauma informed practice, asset-based approaches, quality assurance frameworks or from a background of supporting vulnerable adults to work through trauma and develop skills for resilience.

I would urge anyone thinking of applying for this role to research the Emmaus model of support and visit the shops and sites to gain greater understanding of the unique service we provide.
